Communications 
  • Receipt and documentation of reports of death from law enforcement agencies, medical facilities and funeral service industry personnel

  • Provision of assistance to next of kin and others in completing the process required for decedent identification

  • Provision of information to next of kin or designated persons regarding release status of decedents

  • Preparation of death certificates for all agency cases

  • Preparation of paperwork for all cases (i.e., unclaimed remains) referred for public disposition – unclaimed remains are disposed of by the District after 30 days of receipt of the decedent by the agency

  • Receipt of payments from next of kin or designated persons, funeral directors and others for cremation requests, proof of death forms and other documents
