Death Investigation/Certification 
  • Investigation and certification of all deaths in the District that occur by any means of violence (injury), and those that occur without explanation or medical attention, are related to drugs, of persons in custody, or which pose a threat to the public health

  • Medical certification portion of a death certificate completed and signed by medical examiner and provided to a funeral director within 48 hours of taking charge of the case
