2022 Maternal Mortality Review Committee Annual Report

The MMRC is proud to present its third Annual Report. This report includes case discussions, data, and recommendations developed in 2022 from the review of maternal deaths that occurred in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Through this report, we share the ways our community, health, and social systems might have intervened to prevent maternal mortality, while also protecting the privacy of the decedents and their families. 2022 Violence Fatality Review Committee Annual Report
The Violence Fatality Review Committee (VFRC) will identify, evaluate, and make systemic recommendations to improve programs responsible for protecting and serving the residents of the District of Columbia.

Opioid Fatality Review Board 2021 Annual Report
In 2021, the United States experienced a record number of drug overdose deaths. From 2020 to 2021, there was a 12.5% increase1 in the number of drug overdose deaths in the U.S. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates over 550 people died of a drug overdose in the District of Columbia in 2021-almost 10% more than 2020. The District also experienced numerous non-fatal overdoses in 2021. OCME can usually process requests within 24 hours of submission.
