Administrative Services

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner provides the services through its Administrative  Division, which is responsible for oversight of the operational and programmatic functions of the OCME. Administrative services include personnel management; contracting and procurement; risk, fleet, property and financial management; legal services; communications; labor management; and agency performance management.

The services also include an IT function which includes: 1) management of the agency’s forensic automated case tracking system (FACTS) which tracks all aspects of a case from intake to final disposition and allows provision of information to the next of kin; and 2) compilation of statistical data from FACTS for the publication of statutorily mandated annual reports which are provided to the public.

The services to the public include the procurement of Grief Counseling Services and reference materials for grieving next of kin; records management responses to autopsy report, photograph, and proof of death requests by next of kin; and public information services to the media and general public.
